So I am back with Colette 1018 Jasmine Shirt Pattern. Today I tried to put on my collar and since I did not really measure the collar to make sure it was even I ended up with this.
I love this shirt but ladies I feel like the tie makes you look like a freaking girl scout. I am going to attempt to make some adjustments to the pattern and change the look of the tie.
I will admit it. I am a beginner clothing sewer and I have been looking for patterns to try. If you follow my blog you will notice that you do not see many clothing tips.
To be quite honest I have never really sewn clothing beyond a skirt so I have been scouring for some patterns I can try.
There are a lot of great blogs out there with some amazing DIY tutorials. Today I saw these lovely earrings on Crème de la Craft and I just had to share. Can you believe that they are made from bobby pins?
Have you ever looked at a fabric and just fell in love. On your way home to have thoughts of all the projects you can use it for and with a wide grin an open possibilities you eagerly set out on your plans.... Sounds great right but what if you discover that you have never worked in this fabric before?
I finally got my new sewing machine. I have been putting it off due to all the things that I have been having to do.... but I now have my new baby... my bad I meant sewing machine (key evil laugh here).
Oh, the bags, the bags I am envisioning making. Hopefully this one does not have a problem with sewing up to 7 layers.
Today bags... Tomorrow the WORLD... mwa ha ha ha ha hahahahahahah *cough* *cough*
Honestly, I didn't know that the picture was being taken
Craft Expo
I really enjoyed this expo. It was the first one that I have ever attended and it was a lovely experience. There were not many attendees but it was intimate because I was able to give my undivided attention to those that wanted to ask questions.
Today I have amassed a few video's on how to do jackets. I was just surfing on youtube and stumbled across some videos that I think would be good for the beginner as well as the intermediate sewer.
Today I want to share with you this video that I stumbled across on tips to help you sew like a pro. Yep, a pro... by helping you put a tailored look into your skirts or maybe your jacket sleeves (hhmm... something worth looking into don't yah think). I love little tips and tricks that help you figure out ways to make your sewing more personal and give it a little bit of added flair.
I hope you enjoy it. I thought that she was very clear and concise in her explanation.
Today I am coming at you with something that caught my attention. I occasionally crochet to help co-ordinate with my wardrobe and I was browsing to find new easy and quick crochet ideas when I noticed Craftstylish. While browsing I stumbled on a project on how to crochet a rug.
On Valentine's Day we think of those
Who make our lives worthwhile,
Those gracious, friendly people who
We think of with a smile.
I am fortunate to know you,
That's why I want to say,
Happy Valentine's Day

Here's hoping that your day is wonderful and your evening is even better.
Forgive me for being late on the scene. But my dears, there are some apps available for your iphone and android. While I am interested in a lot of these apps you can go on iTunes and check them out. There are some sites that have available reviews.
"Time management is a myth, a lie, a fairytale and a guilt magnet. There
are only 24 hours each day and 7 days each week. Time is constant and
unchangeable. The only management going on is within us." (Maria Nerius, Favecrafts.com) Read the rest of the article here.
So I have this book on mini quilts, that is aptly name Whip up Mini Quilts by Kathereen Riketson and I decided that they may be more appropriate to do considering the time constraints. I am looking at getting maybe 2 from this book done and then maybe a pin wheel quilt. But my goal is to really finish early so I can add some finishing touches to my bags.
"A Litte Birdie Told Me"- by Kellie Wulfsohn (p.97). The finished size for this quilt is 38x 25 1/2 inches
Here’s to hoping that you and yours have a fabulous year.
Hope that your resolutions work out in your favour. I think that the point of
making resolutions is to encourage reflection and to be guidelines/ hopes to help improve your quality of life for the New Year.
