Here is a tam that I crocheted to wear on Friday's and weekends.

Potential bag fabric

Ok, I know that I have not posted any projects in a while but I am thinking of making a classy hobo bag (yep... I used classy hobo in a sentence). I love hobo bags but they always look too grocery bagish to me.

So below are my thoughts on what I should use for my new bag.

I want to use the zebra on the outside and the red on the inside of the bag. I have had this pattern for a while now and I think that it would be best if I gave it a shot. But knowing me I probably won't read the directions because I'm just extra weird like that. I like to figure it out for myself... You never know may be able to do something interesting with it.

My poor sewing machine

I have really been trying to complete some bag orders that I received. However my sewing machine decided that it needed a break and just refused to sew any more bags.

That being said, don't you think that it could have decided this before I took over 3 hours sewing the freaking bag!??!! So now I need to find me a heavy duty sewing machine *stupes*

Yes, I know I am weird but I love that people come to view my projects and listen to me ramble on and on.

Finally figured it out. It is easier to cut circles, cut them in half and sew them together.

Hi

Well I went to the movies earlier and could not make up my mind on what to wear or how to style my hair. I decided to whip up a hair clip (lies... more like 1 hour).

Ok, Let me first say that I am bad at following directions. I see something and I immediately what to tweak it. Like I see someone with a bag and I like it. However, in my head I think on what the pattern may look like, how many pieces would the pattern entail and various changes I would make so that I end up loving it. With that being said I found this Big Bloom fabric flower on Keyka Lou.

It took me 1 hour because as usual I did not read directions and I was doing a million things at once. So after seeing the error of my ways I finally completed my flower.

Now even though I scaled it back it was still too big for my head. But I love it all the same. Because I was low on time I hauled out my trusty glue gun after sewing to put the flower together. I attached the flower to a hair clip and now I can attach it to my hair, jewelry, bags and clothing.

Oh... I have a pearl on it because my button wasn't big enough (*sigh*).

Logo

I am so terrible at this blogging thing. Still unpacking... So I am trying to at least get a logo and a custom header. Due to laziness I don't have time to do it myself.

Beginning of the Week

I have decided that I will try blogging more often since I hardly ever try unless I actually have a project to post. Lately... I have not completed any projects because I am still looking at packed boxes right now.

New Bathroom Curtains

My bathroom needed new curtains and due to my laziness because I did not wish to go to the store in hopes of finding one that fit the window. Plus as a habit I normally buy 2 of the same shower curtains.

Still making some Changes

I don't know if anyone has noticed yet... But I am currently making some changes to my blog so that it reflects my view of what it should look like better.

It is taking forever because I am doing it myself and trust me I am frustrated as hell and I have not done anything in html for over 6 years. Let me tell you I remember nothing from back then.

Also due to this temporary move I have no internet so I have to go and bum some from my friends (God Bless them :-)).

May check in later this week when I have made more progress.

Clothing Attempt

Just for the record, I do not make clothing. I was never that interested in it then and I am only just having an interest in it now. Me, I prefer bags and quilts. With that said, here is my first attempt (in a long long time) at a skirt.

Organizing my Sewing Space

It's official my sewing space needs some organization. I get so wrapped up in projects that I tend to just throw everything all over the place. Also when I am up late doing projects I practically live on Cola.

Effective 2 Hours Ago

Decided to make a clutch and purse... thinking about a belt. Got the pattern online from made by Rae(will update with website later). Loving it thoroughly. Played around with the shape a bit on the bag because I already had the nice rounded shape in the clutch. Think I might play around with the pattern a bit and do other variations. The bag was awesome and super easy... Like I said...Loving it.

First Quilt

Thought I should finally admit to my first quilt attempt which by the way is still a work in progress... 1 year later *sigh*. Yep I admitted it has been about 1 year later since I thought "Hey, let me make a quilt for my friends baby!" Bear in mind that I had never made a quilt before so I went to Moda Bakeshop and found myself a pattern. I chose His & Hers Baby Quilt.

How I deal with Frustration

This is as far as I have gotten on the ulu breadfruit. Yes... I am a slow sewer... A really slow sewer. I tend to get frustrated and just put things away or just fling them into a corner of my living room (for about 1 month or so). I tend to move on the other projects until I am completely in denial about all previous frustration projects.

Hawaiian Quilting

My first attempt at a ulu. It is a bit lopsided... Not enough pins. Pins are the key when working with 8 layers of fabric.


Today I am learning to create a traditional Ulu/ breadfruit design quilt. Now while the result is beautiful (see above) it can be murder on your scissors and thumb. Please go and get the BIG and I mean BIG cutting shears. It cost me $50.00 locally to buy but it cut through 8 layers like butter.

I know some may be asking, why eight layers? Well the premise of this applique design is symmetry, therefore only about 1/4 of the design is what you will use to cut out the full design. So you fold it about 3 times, draw out the pattern, pin like crazy and cut... Voila.

I think it's cute as soon as I have it completely worked out. I will post more info.
