Quilt Progress- Quilt Sandwich

Hiya

If you follow me on Facebook then you would know that I was in the process of finishing a quilt top. Here are the pictures of me putting together the quilt sandwich.

Quilt Back
Adding the batting

Now the Quilt Top... Now my sandwich is complete

So I put together the three parts: Quilt Back, Batting and Quilt Top. To secure the Quilt backing I used painters tape.

TIP: Do no put the painters tape on the batting... It will come off with the tape

Once finished I pinned the pieces together using safety pins. Then I began basting my quilt starting from the middle outwards.

Today is Thursday, I am doing this quilt for Saturday and my walking foot is not working.

Wish me luck.

Quilt Projects for Expo

So I have this book on mini quilts, that is aptly name Whip up Mini Quilts by Kathereen Riketson  and I decided that they may be more appropriate to do considering the time constraints. I am looking at getting maybe 2 from this book done and then maybe a pin wheel quilt. But my goal is to really finish early so I can add some finishing touches to my bags.

"A Litte Birdie Told Me"- by Kellie Wulfsohn (p.97). The finished size for this quilt is 38x 25 1/2 inches

First Quilt

Thought I should finally admit to my first quilt attempt which by the way is still a work in progress... 1 year later *sigh*. Yep I admitted it has been about 1 year later since I thought "Hey, let me make a quilt for my friends baby!" Bear in mind that I had never made a quilt before so I went to Moda Bakeshop and found myself a pattern. I chose His & Hers Baby Quilt.
