Making Progress (New Pouches)

It seems blogger is having problems. I posted on Thursday 12, 2011 about my new pouches that I made on Wednesday. So, here I am again trying to post my progress.

Ok, here is my attempt to make a transparent project envelope. What is a project envelope you ask... Trust me I didn't know until the idea struck me last night. I decided that I wanted a project envelope. Yes, an envelope. Then I thought, "What's the point if I can't see what's inside it?" So I set out to make it partially clear.

After lots of experimenting... (aka. many many mistakes) I decided, "What the Hell!" I decided to go for it. Here is my envelope
I wanted to keep making pouches but I like to be able to store and view my projects even when I am not using them. So, I cut out the basic shape for the envelope and after much experimentation as well as trial and error this is what I did.

The lovely print you see in the back is a batik that I had in one of my bins for a while. The batik is used for the lining and all in all I think it came out good considering that I decided to make these changes half way through my original project.

For this project I learned how to make bias tape and that planning can be awesome. So I will post pictures when I do the next envelope.
