First Quilt

Thought I should finally admit to my first quilt attempt which by the way is still a work in progress... 1 year later *sigh*. Yep I admitted it has been about 1 year later since I thought "Hey, let me make a quilt for my friends baby!" Bear in mind that I had never made a quilt before so I went to Moda Bakeshop and found myself a pattern. I chose His & Hers Baby Quilt.

Started:

Quilt Top
That took me 1 month because I could not find a layer cake but I found charm squares. Then I realized that I cannot sew straight to save my life... sad I know *shrug*. Cut out the letters and did the embroidery by hand. Also please understand that all of this had to be ordered online because sadly they are not carried here in the Virgin Islands.

Three... Maybe Five Months Later

Had to order the cotton batting and then I was told that I was too thin *rolls eyes*. So since they wanted a thicker look had to find polyester batting.

Another Three Months go by

Please note... Only after I realized that I needed a walking foot. Me... I did all of this with a regular sewing foot and alot of pushing and tugging. But I loved the finished product.

Now it is currently 1 month later. Who knows I may attempt to put on the mitered corners. The sad part is that the baby will be make his first birthday next month. Am I the queen of procrastination... *shrug* Maybe
